Hidden Gems is a creative support service launched by founder Gemma Longworth - Artist, upcycler, presenter of Ch4's Find It, Fix It, Flog It and Author of 'Craft Your Cure'.

Gemma hosts a variety of art and craft workshops that focus on creating a positive, happy and healing environment. Her workshops are ideal for all ages, large groups, events & festivals, as well as more intimate groups and 1-2-1 sessions.

Having found solace through creative outlets herself at a young age, Gemma shows how incredibly therapeutic creative activities can be - no matter what your ability.

Specialised Workshops

Bereavement Support

For children and adults experiencing loss. A safe space to work through emotions using therapeutic art. Activities include canvas painting, drawing, decoupage, journaling, and memory boxes.

Mental Wellbeing

For stress relief and relaxation. Explore art mediums for mindfulness, clarity, focus, and self-expression. Ideal for workplace wellness. Activities: 'Create your inner masterpiece' painting, 'Cut Out Overthinking' collage, 'Restore Your Mind' upcycling, collaborative art.

Sustainability

Combine therapeutic art with practical DIY. Transform furniture, clothing, or workspaces while learning about recycling and upcycling. Aimed at schools, charities, corporate groups, and adults. Activities: Furniture/clothing upcycling, painting techniques, murals, recycled artwork.

Create Joy

Fun workshops for celebrations, school days, team building, birthdays. Activities: Flower crowns, pompom headbands, t-shirt design, graffiti furniture, jewellery making, clothing customising.

Ongoing Support & Sessions

Creative Support Groups

Weekly, fortnightly, or monthly groups providing a safe space for expression, skill-sharing, and connection. Reduces isolation and fosters belonging. Current groups include: The Alder Centre Children's Bereavement Support, Alder Hey Staff Well Being Project & Alfies Squad.

Team Building Workshops

Unique experiences for teams to connect, explore creativity, and collaborate. Try new skills in a supportive environment. A city centre art studio is available. Clients include: Aintree University Hospital, Everton in the Community, LFC Foundation, Down Syndrome Cheshire, Mencap & The Big Help Project.

1-2-1 Art Sessions

Personalised sessions for boosting mental health. A welcoming, non-judgemental space for self-exploration, relaxation, and 'you time'. Promotes mindfulness and positivity. Reduces stress and anxiety. Clients referred by Alder Hey Hospital CAMHS team.
